Dr. Steven Mirabello graduated with a B.A. from Columbia College in 1981. He then received his medical degree from Harvard University School of Medicine in 1985. Dr. Mirabello did his Internship in General Surgery at Santa Barbara Hospital, an affiliate of UCLA. Next he did his Orthopedic Residency at the Hospital for Bone and Joint Diseases, where he was selected Chief Resident. Following his residency, he did a Fellowship in Sports Medicine with the concentration on shoulder surgery in Alabama under Drs. Andrews and Clancey. In Alabama he took care of many professional athletes, including Bo Jackson, Charles Barkley, Fran Tarkenton, Bruce Smith and Roger Clemens.
Dr. Mirabello is a proud Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Baseball Association. He is also Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery. Among his accomplishments are many significant presentations in the area of sports medicine, as well as several articles in scientific papers on shoulder surgery and the exam/treatment of the shoulder. Dr. Mirabello is also credited with being the first surgeon to perform a cartilage transplant on the West Coast of Florida.
Today, Dr. Mirabello lives in Palm Harbor, Fla.
