Dr. Sang Choi was born in Seoul, Korea, and immigrated to the United States when he was 11 years old. He spent his adolescence in Indiana and went on to graduate with a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Indiana University – Purdue. Dr. Choi received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1986. He did his Orthopedic Residency at McLaren General Hospital, an affiliation of Michigan University. At the Detroit Hand Surgery Center, he completed postgraduate training in the hand, foot and ankle.

Dr. Choi is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons.

Dr. Choi is a design consultant for total knee instrumentation and has performed more than 1,500 hip and knee replacements. During his career, Dr. Choi has completed numerous presentations, publications and research. He has also received two awards for Ankle Fusion Study and Total Knee Study.

Dr. Choi is an Orthopaedic consultant for the Toronto Blue Jays and is a clinical teaching professor for the University of Florida residency program. When he is not taking care of his patients, Dr. Choi enjoys spending time with his beautiful family of five, as well as fishing, hunting, water skiing and playing tennis.
